Orange County Commissioner Linda Stewart is urging her fellow Commissioners to make the county’s Human Rights Ordinance consistent when protecting against discrimination, but she might be getting some pushback.
Yesterday I sent a memo to the Mayor and Board of County Commissioners to call for an immediate review of the procedures and practices of Centerplate, the Convention Center contractor, so that we can enforce penalties against officials or lobbyists who violate such. The Ethics Ordinance of 2007 must be re-visited and ammended to ensure no loopholes exist for any activity. Please read the full memo below.
Commissioner Stewart believes this initiative, if successful, will bring hundreds of direct jobs to the area and potentially thousands more from companies and small businesses that will want to utilize this cutting edge technology.
